# Tabs

> Open several pages at once in a tab bar, search the workspace from a new tab, and keep page tabs when switching projects.

The tab bar keeps several pages open at once. Each page visited from the sidebar or a link opens as a tab.

## Enable tabs

Open **Profile** under **Settings → Personal** and turn on **Show tabs**. The switch is available in the **AI Studio** app; the **AI Gateway** app always shows its own tab bar.

## Open and close tabs

* **New tab**: select **+**. The **New Tab** page carries the workspace search, the same one as **Search** in the sidebar, with **Quick actions** for a new agent, an evaluation, the playground, and experiments.
* **Switch**: select a tab.
* **Close**: select **×** on the tab.

## Switching projects

Tabs belong to the project that opened them. After switching projects, tabs for that project's entities, such as a prompt, dataset, or deployment, leave the bar, while page tabs such as **Traces**, **Models**, or **Billing** stay open.
